So for this contest build I am thinking of a few things and I am pretty sure I have it figured out. Soo on that does anyone have the knowledge of what kit or where I can come in possession of a V8 high rise intake??? I asked my grandfather what he thought would look the best and he chose that one so I am pretty sure this is going to him afterwards. But I have been doing some research on evil bay and cannot find them anywhere. I could probably fabricate some but some knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for looking,
Josh

Are you looking for something like Edelbrock Victor Jr intake or something that looks close? I need one of those for my current project as well and I've found out that these are not easy to find. Some NASCAR kits have something that could possibly work, but that's basically all that I've found. I've seen people scratchbuilding these, though, but I'm not sure if I could do it or not so at least I have to find one of these from somewhere else. I have one Victor Jr (1:1 scale) so I can take reference pictures if needed. Though good pics can be found easily from the internet, too, I believe.

What first comes to mind is the intakes on the those older AMT NASCAR kits? I think the AMT Baldwin Motion Camaro kit might have something similar too.

If one has a Dremel electric thing with a grinder bit or two, I would think most one-carb manifolds could be changed. Otherwise, there may be something good as a "stock" setup for one of the late '60s-'70s pony cars around. Maybe something even with the 1930s Ford kits as hot rods. Another option is a small bit of flat plastic glued to manifold where carb attaches and puttied to look aftermarket manifold. A fair size air cleaner would cover much anyway. As I recommend to all, if there's any toy show/swap meets (often twice a year) within driving range, GO. Overnite budget motel rooms shared make it reasonable too. At shows, deals can be had, selection is great and "glue bombs" cheap sources for parts. Also, super to meet other styrene-geeks!

thanks guys I spent most of my night doing some research and pretty much came to the same conclusion I am going to have to end up just adjusting one to fit. There are a couple kits that i think might have it but I really dont want to spend the money on a kit to rob the intake from it.. I was pondering how to adjust and am going to work on it this weekend i will put up some pics once finished.
Thanks guys, Josh

Good man! In the end, besides having a good time, the best thing is always to "Get 'er done!" We all have models that sit unfinished. Your determination is a lesson for us all! Thanx.
