Hi all here is an update on yet another kit I seem to be unable to do a decent job of. the decal is too big its supposed to fit inside the door and its supposed to say The Monkees not just Monkees, oh and its supposed to be yellow not gold. none of the engine parts fit correctly there is no radiator or hoses for the engine. if I cant build a decent model soon I think I will give up altogether.

I don't see where the decal and the missing parts are your fault . What you have so far looks pretty good , so keep working on it . If you have any questions about parts just ask . We all need some help from time to time , that's no reason to give up .

I agree you should give up.. lol Just joking, you should never give up something you enjoy.
So far it looks good, seams its different to how its ment to be you might as well go all the way and build it custom.
If you have a spare parts box, try to find a radiator any radiator and make it fit, also you can use any black electrical wire to make hoses just have to find some a good size.
I very rarely use the all the factory parts in kits, I think making and modifying kits is one of the fun parts about building.

Can you take a photo of the chassis and engine without the body on it ? In the last photo you posted it looks like the front and rear axles are just a little bit too far forward in the body , and the engine is definitely too far back in the chassis . The front of the oil pan should be above the suspension crossmember . . . something is missing somewhere . . . we need to see a photo of everything . Ooo , and the drums are a cool idea !

Hi Bob here are the pics. as you can see the rear axle and drive shaft are moulded in one piece and the axle has a pin on each side which goes int the corresponding holes so not possible for that to be in the wrong place. as you can see from this pic the exhaust also fits into a pin hole and the other end fits on to the manifold, which it does so engine must be in the right place on the chassis and as you can see from this picture there are holes on the bucket for the chassis to fit into and from the next pic you can see the pins for the chassis to locate on, so its not possible to get that in the wrong place either ? Any way plowing on I've built the blower and fitted that, when fitted you cant see the engine (even though it is still in the wrong place and the blower is not sitting on the head (well only half of it) done a bit to the drums

Good photos KP (?) they do show that you are installing the parts correctly . Without actually seeing it I can't say what's wrong but I'm guessing that if the engine was moved forward a little bit ant the whole chassis is moved a little bit that it will look okay. I found this photo online and it does look like this engine is a little further forward than yours , but I don't know why . Compare it carefully with yours , maybe you will see something different . Then keep on building , it will look fine when it's finished and you will have learned with experience .

After seeing several photos of finished models You shouldn't even worry about it , the engine is completely covered and can't be seen ! They all look like this :
