Just picked these up at a garage sale. 2 bucks for the lot. The case is mint, only the gold spray is open but feels almost full.

Two bucks for all of that sounds like a great deal! I went to a local Hobby Shop as they had received a collection of a long time model builder who just passed away. There was a big bunch of old kits mostly from the '70s and '80s and while they were not especially cheap, they weren't really expensive either, I had to buy a '74 Malibu Stock Car and Jo-Han '63 Fury. Both of them are opened, but pretty much all parts are there in mint condition. That Malibu will be built box stock with some additional detailing (If I can save those old decals) and Fury will be a Super Stock car some day...

Santa brought me a Revell '68 Mustang. The kit has parts to build it as a Super Stock car so I think that's what I'll be building from it too. You can never have enough Stock or Super Stock cars on your shelf! My kit has two complete interiors and other one of them is in a separate plastic bag with a piece of paper that says "'68 Mustang Replacement Parts", is it a failure at Revell's or something else..? Never seen that kind of thing before...

Probably you have been nicer than me then since Santa only brought me a 1979 Camaro.

Nothing wrong with a '79 Camaro in my opinion! Though those kits of that car might not be the best quality...

Today I stumbled over another "not so favourite" kit, El Camino -86, brush painted and started on by a kid. Probably I will solve this by making a phantom concept car out of them, an El Camaro......we'll see!

My Christmas present arrived early this year . I won this auction recently and it arrived yesterday , the box is in beautiful condition and it's still factory sealed ! I think it was a good deal at way below the century mark . And yes I'm going to open it . . . as soon as I get batteries for my camera .

Wow! That's a nice score right there! And even though some collectors might feel bad about it, it's great to hear that you're going to build it rather than just put it into a shelf collecting dust. That Competition Coupe on the side of the box looks pretty much perfect in my opinion so I'd probably end up building a box art replica. But whatever you do I'm sure it'll look cool when finished!
How cool would it be to have that kit reissued with all of those extra parts and everything! I know I'd have to buy it immediately...

Well I picked up a pretty unusual thing today: the 33 rpm, 7" record that you could get through the Revell VW EMPI Inch Pincher Too kit back on original release in 1969, I think. Here is the box: Here is the record. Pretty kool thing, I had a search going for this for awhile, and finally one showed up. Then another showed up. So they are out there. Tomorrow I think I will throw it on the turntable and digitize it. Revell put out quite a few of these records, in conjunction mostly with military models. This is the only automobile related one I know of, although I do have another that is titled "Cycle" but no picture sleeve with it. I also have a really kool bootleg, obviously compiled in the 90s or 00s, that is on a "Revell" label but it cannot be for real. The cover is a photo of two guys working on bodywork on a sled, with Roth t shirts on. The record itself is a compilation of car tunes and some associated stuff, I think I recognize maybe one or two tunes from the titles. Anyway will post a pic of that too if anyone is interested! jb jb

The competition coupe on the side of the box is definitely what I have planned ! Surprisingly there are regularly quite a few of these on ebay opened for pretty fair prices , even a reissue in a larger box but with the same box art . Don't know the year . So I have batteries for my camera , here goes the opening ! No surprises but it's sure nice to see shiny new parts ! Nice ! The decals have a few issues but I think I can work with them . This is next on my bench !
