The more I look at it, the more its apparent it will need a lot of work to get to the real item...its a completely different body to start with, look at the grille and overall proportions. And the fairing on the hood needs to extend way back but I suppose that would necessitate cutting into the body and spoil the plan for retaining the stock option. So that will have to be done and the existing fairing either extended rearward or just gotten rid of altogether and replaced with one that does extend back to the windscreen line. Still, its better than nothing and what is here is a nice thin casting. jb Sounds like an ambitious project for sure. looking forward to see how you run with it.

Thanks Ron, if I actually do anything with this in the near future it would probably be a fictitious build rather than try to replicate the real one. Too much to change. But it can still be built into a very believable version of one of the other healeys running out there on the drag strip. Would have to start with figuring out a chassis for it, the stock stuff has to go in almost all cases but the outer body. I am not sure how they were built up in the old days but I do recall seeing something like this at the local strip back then, it was pretty much stock except the engine and running gear from what I recall, seems like it had original interior in it. The cars were only a few years old back then so most were not extensively modified. Dirt cheap too, always wanted a real one.

Now something completely new! I saw one of these on a WIP thread somewhere, so as my settings are only temporary with various pieces of white coated wood, I'll invest in one of these. A PULUZ Light Box.. It has all of the electrics, LED lighting and 6 various coloured backgrounds.

I have rounded up a bunch of stuff lately, old and new, and maybe I should take some photos, but I just got the Revell Germany VW Type I Camper kit, and I have to say, for such a big box (the kind that open on the end, we all hate them), I am surprised to say it is absolutely STUFFED with parts. A real good sign. Looked at the instrux and they are a large, magazine size, and the actual instructions don't even start until page 10! The earlier parts are all incredibly detailed painting charts for all the various camper accessories that are included. To be honest, I don't even want to take out any parts because I know they will not fit back into the box. But later in the weekend I will take some shots unless someone wants to link to a post with them already shown. This looks to be an incredible kit.
Also just got the C1 Models MGBGT kit with some accessories, and the ultra ULTRA kool little VW fender scooter. Will deffo shoot some pics of this because it is a mindblower.
Hasegawa just recently reissued some of their previously unobtainium Hi Tech metal kits, the Toyota S2000 and the Mazda Cosmo and these are at least worth a mention. Both beautiful cars done very well.

I like that idea! I'll have to keep my eyes open for a few. I have tons of period correct die casts to pose with it, but I'm not looking forward to going through all my tubs of them to find the correct ones. Since the B-17, I've bought these. I'm sure I'll find something to change on the convertible. Interior color looks hideous.

I'm fascinated by seeing more and more modified Hot Wheels diecasts. They seem tiny to me so how are they done? I'll have to look on YouTube to see if they are any on video. So whilst shopping at Tesco's this morning I spotted this Porsche 914 in Safari form. And at only £1.50 I'm surprised to see them at such a good price!

I love to customize those hot wheels. I do more of them lately than models.

Hobby Lobby has their hobby paints on clearance. $1.59 per can and 99 cents for the little jars. The Buick was about 15 bucks with the 40 percent off, but the REAL deal is the paint!

Since you mentioned the little scale cars, Match Box makes that Lotus. Maybe not the same year, though.
