Thanks Jim, yeah you just got to grin and bear it man. Otis (my beautiful doggie) is doing fine and he says hello back although it usually just sounds like "BARK!!!". He is 15 mos old and this week is going to be a major life change for him, at the vet, say bye bye to those two things hanging down in back! This photo of him on guard duty was taken a couple months ago. Pat, if you get a chance could you measure that roof rack, mount point to mount point so I can check it against my Best Models split window bug body? It would look great over the open sunroof. Also, about how high does the rack itself sit above the mount points? Appreciate it if you can, if not, don't worry about it, I will probably spring for one anyhow. Hi Jim, I have some dimensions and photo's for you.. The dimensions are.. the rack is just short of 5cms long it's 6 cms wide, the height to the slats is 1.3cms the full height is 2cms. the photo's show the rack balanced on the roofs of a complete Hasegawa camper shell and the roof of the Revell version, the rack photo of the underside of the rack shows cross braces that I would imagine are there purely for the 3D printing process. You will also notice that as the real 1:1 version the 'legs' have 'hooks' that fit to the gutters. So those 'cross braces' would need to be carefully removed.

Thanks Pat (its JB, Just Bill by the way, not Jim). I agree, I think those braces are just there for the structural stability during printing and should be removed. Either I am seeing this funny or the rack doesn't really fit that Hasegawa bus roof too well, looks way too wide for it. Was this rack offered as something that fits something specific or was that left up to the buyer?
Thanks for the pics and the explanation by the way.

No it was just a 3D printed roof rack initially for VW's. It's probably because I photographed it a funny angle. Hi jb. painted the 3D rack and posed it on my latest project. The legs are quite pliable so fit the roof well. A bit more work to do on the VW, windows, lights, bumpers etc.

Hey Paul, What you got there is a mess.............a mess of good parts..LOL
The black Dragster is Revell, A Dragmaster frame If it is molded black it's more than likely from the double car kit (also came with a T bucket) If it's yellow it's the Mooneyes parts pack, red the Dragmaster parts pack, or light blue would be the M/T Attempt 1
But it looks like it's black plastic? Is the other one blue plastic or is that paint?
And you got the rare Revell Fiat there along with the two AMTs
Nice deal, glad they didn't go in the trash You'll do something good with them

The blue body panels has about 6 coats of Pactra little bottles over the black plastic like the other one. I knew one fiat was the Revell but don't recall the rail and T double kit. I have an Attempt I and the Moon rail I build when I was much, much, much younger They will be saved and rebuilt on threads posted here except possibly the Drag u la. Paul
