This is something I've been doing for a while now to really improve the look of foil and it only takes a few seconds with some metal polish and a soft cloth . I use Semi-Chrome because it's what I have , but any metal polish found at a parts store or Walmart will do the trick .
It's important to do this on the sheet before cutting the foil and never after it's applied to you model . The polishing produces a black residue that is impossible to remove ! After you apply the foil go ahead and buff it with a Q-tip or soft cloth .
Also you can see in the photos that I'm polishing an old sheet of foil but it works wonders on brand new sheets too !
If you have never done this before you should give it a try , the difference is pretty impressive !
