This is something I've been doing for a while now to really improve the look of foil and it only takes a few seconds with some metal polish and a soft cloth . I use Semi-Chrome because it's what I have , but any metal polish found at a parts store or Walmart will do the trick . It's important to do this on the sheet before cutting the foil and never after it's applied to you model . The polishing produces a black residue that is impossible to remove ! After you apply the foil go ahead and buff it with a Q-tip or soft cloth . Also you can see in the photos that I'm polishing an old sheet of foil but it works wonders on brand new sheets too ! If you have never done this before you should give it a try , the difference is pretty impressive !

Wow! Great idea! I use SimiChrome on aluminum sheet and tubing to simulate chrome (see pics below) but it never occured to me to try it on BMF. BTW, I've tried various metal polishes but have found nothing that beats SimiChrome for the depth and quality of shine. I've used it ever since my old bicycle racing days when we used to buff our road-worn Campagnolo Record hubs back to a chrome-like luster.

Great shine on those parts Bernard ! Ever since my first motorcycle in '79 I've had a tube of SemiChrome in my toolbox . Years ago a guy at a bike shop tried to sell me some Flitz but instead I drove about 20 miles to another shop to buy SemiChrome , nothing better ! I use it on my scratchbuilt aluminum parts too . . . I even used it to restore the gauge lenses on my 1:1 '60 El Camino ! I use it all the time and a tube seems to last for years !!

...a tube seems to last for years !! Yeah, I actually have 2 tubes going right now. Somewhere in the past I lost track of one and bought a second. Sometimes I think I'll never run out! A little dab'll do ya...
