The Grand National Roadster Show just concluded at the .A. Fairplex in Pomona, CA. I entered four models and, to my surprise, one received an award: third place in the Competition class. It's a '53 Studebaker lakes racer made from the AMT kit with a chopped top, a B-pillar added and a set-back Hemi with a crank-mounted blower. There were probably several hundred entries in about ten classes. Unfortunately, I don't know which ones were the winners. At the awards ceremony the class, car description and winner's name were called and then the award was handed to the entrant. Only if the entrant wasn't there was the award placed next to the model.

Thanks! Here are a few more photos. As with the pix in my post above, be sure to click on each photo to see it larger. Attachment DeletedMore Custom class entries. Attachment Deleted2nd Place in the Low Rider class. This was built by Emilio Gutierrez with a fantastic multi-colored paint job. The entry form says it's a '62 but it looks like a '70 to me. Attachment DeletedSome Street Machine entries. That green '57 Ford was a nice change from the usual kinds of cars one sees.
