CHANGES TO TAKE AFFECT AROUND JUNE 2013
I have been long debating the costs and work involved in effort
to keep this club pumping over the last couple of years. The membership
has fallen by more than half as for due paying members aka "Gold Members".
It's not the end of the world.
Many of you have paid up through 2013, some of you are free because of
our "don't live in the USA" exception.
Between the paid up members and the freebies, there won't be enough to spread
around in order to keep the website up.
The biggest use of our site is for model kit instructions, hands down.
Nothing else matters nearly as much to anyone in this hobby. (when it comes
to our site)
Our site is very popular!
Everyone is directed to our fotki site from the site when seeking instructions.
I have tried it all out....we can have the same type of navigation on fotki
without having the extra cost of the web site.
If we do away with www.thedpmcc.com and just utilize fotki alone, we can
still accomplish the same objectives for much less money.....which means ,
dues for Gold membership could be much more affordable by more members
and we could grow in this economy.
Personally, I don't foresee anyone complaining if I get rid of the web site, as long
as everything we have is still on our fotki.
Of course this decision comes with a bunch of work rearranging fotki and
organizing it for everyone's convenience.
Check our fotki out and try the TEST folder to get an idea how it would be
to navigate.

You won't be able to go into every folder, just the ones without a lock on them.
Please check it out, let me know if you have any questions.

The downfall will be spreading the news, which I hope a lot of you will help me do.
Once the site is gone, people are going to go nuts....seriously, I know they will
email me like insanely crazy!
PS. I know some of you may want to help out and keep the site up...
Thanks and I do appreciate that a lot! However, I think it's time to cut
back on expense and it will cut my work in half.
I know "club auctions" is going to get brought up...it's something we can
still do, but let's not make it the focus of this topic.....I would love to do it
in order to give us more fun money instead of bill money.
