Some Nice Oldies In The Mail.

I have a friend in Washington State that was cleaning up a ladies basement and found these kits and so he sent them to me. He did not say anything before hand and they came in the mail as a complete surprise. The Der Volks Van is complete un-built & the box is in fair to good condition. The Sizzler is close to complete minus the frame & the box is in excellent shape. The 63 Buick Electra is complete except that some of the model has been put together, I guess this one will have to be a restoration project. The box is in fair condition with a torn corner.











I might do the Der Volks Van as a shorty pickup because my Brother that passed away in 2003 had what he called "Little Wheely" shown in the pic below. So I am not completely sure that it will be a pickup because the kit is so old but I would really like to make a tribute Little Wheely model in his memory. I am going to ask his widow what color he wanted to paint the 1:1 bug, and if she can't come up with a color, then I will more than likely paint it Red, White & Blue like the box cover.





Anyway, I probably won't be building it right away, but if you have any input about weather you think it should be built like the box as a Van, or do you think it should be a tribute model to my late brother's memory. Please post your comments and I will weight the comments to judge if it should be a van or a pickup.

Wow I wish I'd get unexpected packages like that! If it were me I'd do the tribute version.

You are lucky! Luv the Sizzler and wish I had one too. It's very like the early '60s cars when there were wild creations and a ton of classes in which to compete. The Buick could be done in a number of ways, but my choice would be as a custom. Thanx for great pix and a nice story. Now, get to it!
