FOTKI BAD NEWS

I am soooo pissed. I found that yes, our club's fotki

though paid....it's also under threat of losing the originals

and any photos that get no views.

I have no control over this, but I have to get all of those

originals backed up. I can't do it without buying credits.

$30 to get credits because we have so many images.

They charge 8 credits per GB per month and my guess

is they are charging all year? I am confused still.


Bottom line...I have to get rid of fotki and find another site

to host our images.

If you want to save your photos, best go save them right

away!

I can't tell you how this makes me feel. I have worked

so hard building the library we have....especially for

instructions! I am about sick to my stomach.

I am going to pay for credits and back it all up to the

external hard drive we have....I have done a lot, but there

is SOOO much to do. I wish they would have given us some

kind of warning before just cutting us off and charging!

It was great while it lasted! It's a sign of how ephemeral the sites are and how hard for them to be financially solvent. Good luck finding something workable. We don't know how good a site is/or isn't until it's gone!
