And then we had what they called NON-TOXIC, and that stuf didn't stic worth a hoot, and if you were like me, by that time you were so mad and high that the attempt to even put anything together at all was an exercise in futility and said model ended up against the wall, stepped on or thrown with all your waning strength in the trash. man was the time that I seriously contemplated never building another model again as long as I lived. And then there is the dreaded "PART EATING CARPET", we all have it, I had a hobby room when I lived with my mom (5 years ago) and I was forever dropping piece s on the floor and I swear they disappeared forever, NEVER to be seen again. case in point, at the new house I am living at, my hobby/work bench is in the front room, there is carpet there, and yes I dropped a piece (that I had to have to finish the model I was building) and it literally disappeared, me and my gf were looking all over the place for it, she had her high intensity flashlight down there looking for it on her hands and knees, my knees are not what they once were so I couldn't do much, but I was trying to see where it went. Once I decided to see where pieces go when dropped, so I dropped a piece, and brothers it disappeared right before my eyes. Never to be seen again. I tried it with a hubcap once, and you guessed it, the hubcap disappeared, I don't know where it bounced to. I hate shag carpet.

You speak the truth man, I also have part eating carpet but my carpet sometimes coughs up the pieces so my carpet isn't as bad as yours. But you are right when you drop a small piece such as rear-view mirror or a distributor or something it does practically disappears!!! Sometimes I end up finding the piece 2 weeks later or even 3 months later!!!! And about getting frustrated and wanting to smash the model, I have had plenty of those urges because of fit issues or the paint messing up etc, but since I have a tight budget for this hobby I remember to keep my cool and not throw 25 or 40 dollars worth of stuff on the wall if you include the paint you have used on a typical priced car kit you do end up spending $40 dollars worth of stuff on making the model. Because this hobby has so many adventures and challenges it is exciting and worthwhile!!!!!

I agree on that and I tend to NOT throw it against the wall, I shudder to think of some of my friends who do do that whenn they have issues with thgeir models. I have one friend who is always telling me he steps on his models all the time, I tell him to ave the parts from the crushed cars because I can use them for diorams in my junk yards. And as expensive as these kits are getting, I just grin and bear it, or I push away from my bench and get away from the model for awhile, usually until the next day and then I can deal with it in a much more relaxed state.
