Flea market models

This weekend went to a local Flea Market. I picked-up more than I wanted to admit and I really did go a bit overboard but I just got my first paycheck from my new job (was out of work for over a year) and I splurged a little.

I also picked-up a '65 Chevy Impala screw chassis model with weird see-saw seats. I thought the seats were cool and for a few bucks i thought it was worth it. I have already gotten my monies worth in fun just playing with the seats. The fun of ADHD. I would like to know who made it. I put together a Revell 65 Impala a couple months ago and it looks nothing like this car.

I actually had about 8-12 more kits but I kept getting stopped on my way out and people were buying them from me.

Holy cow what a haul!!!! My wife would have shot me if I came home with that many kits at once LOL. Where did you find this feamarket at cause I want to go next time LOL.

I left most of the models in the trunk so I could unload them after my gf went to sleep. Lucky I have my own closet in the craft room so she won't see them till I bring them out.

It's the Belleville Flea Market in Belleville, IL. I was actually going for a model dealer who didn't come this time. Their was a lady selling off her husbands models and that's where I got most of them. The Deora came from a friend who is a vendor and the corvettes and Pyro and palmer models came from another vendor. The flea market is pretty much grand slam or strikeout for models. Some months it seems like every other vendor has models and the next month nobody will have anything.

The usual dealer (who deals way more than he says) has over 10,000 kits and he usually brings 100-150 models each day. His prices are a bit high for a flea market but they are generally inline to a model show. I rarely find anything overly great from him (he brings mostly cheaper stuff to the flea market with a few hard to find things) but for the amount of kits he has you can always find something you want.

She probably would sell them if she could. I will admit some of these are going to wind up going straight into the trade box but I couldn't pass them up. Flea Markets are a great place to get models cheap and you can sometimes find rarer stuff for a great price.

How often is the fleamarket there? I may have to make a trip to the next one! Maybe we could meet up and split the gas next time.

It's every month on the third full weekend. We could ride together but I only live 10 minutes from there. I could meet you there though.

Sounds like a plan, now to just figure out how to sneak out of the house to go without the wife finding out LOLOLOL.

lol, bring her a long if she likes antiques or stuff she will find something. It's one of the largest flea markets in Illinois and if you come early enough their are a dozen or so other flea markets in the area. If you came on the right weekend you could make a weekend trip out of it. And just for you I will only send you to flea markets with model dealers, lol.

But if I bring the wife then I won't have any money or room in the car for the models LOLOL. Does sound like a fun trip, if she is feeling up to it we may try to make the next one.
