I took a break from cars last fall and built a Guillow's P40. I can't believe I had the patients as an early teen to build these. What a trip down memory lane. There's no running gear or rubber band. It was just built to hang from the ceiling. But my grand son saw it and I suppose I'll have to build a flying one for him next spring. Oh man the things we have to do for our grand kids.

looks good Bob! I don't think you had patience to build them, I think you saw past the flaws like we all did and just built them without worrying about details.

Very cool. My son Justin is wanting to try some airplanes soon so I guess by spring he will be getting one to build (might even do one myself but don't tell Bob LOL)

Don't do what I did.I thought I'could speed up the tissue paper drying stage by using alcohol instead of water. The tissue paper didn't shrink up very tight.

I used to build those in my teens also, I had quite a bit more patience then... This really turned out great though... I did build some rather large gliders out of balsa and film also, the biggest one I did and flew had a 7 and a half foot wingspan, on a good day it would fly for almost an hour... I have a couple of plane kits now but, they are plastic, thank God...
