With my compressor waiting for a new belt. I'm spending more time at the computer. A lot of you have seen my garage backdrop in my posts. It's 4 years old. Story: Beecher Meat Company, a scene stopper on the left of the garage, has been razed. Old Beecher took his government stimulus bail out money and bailed out, leaving the property up for forclosure. Geezer took over and tore it down intending to have the room for salvage parts (junk). Beecher Meat goes down ! The extended base. It now measures 36 X 22 inches: Coupla tarped junkers and guard dog house: Scratched up a shed for out there: Looking for fencing material, something a little more realistic than popsickle sticks, and more rea$onable than hobby shop stripwood, I found these in WalMart craft section. A little thick, but cut in half, I get 2 approximate scale 2" X 6" X 6' boards. 75 in a pkg = 150 boards, just about right for the 36 inches of fencing I'll need. I will personalize most of the boards that will be visible. Grain, stain, knotholes, etc. Before I get all kinds of suggestions thrown at me, I will be adding variables, so wait it out !!

Y' ever hear, " I don't have the patience for that"? My standard reply is usually, "If you enjoy it, patience dosen't even enter the picture". Now this,....... this might get a tad tedious. I'm making two strands of barbed wire across the top of the fence. Here's a couple of barbs tied, glued, and ready to be trimmed. Ner' do' wells will have to deal with this wire as well as fluffy, if they want to mess around in my junk yard!

Finished the barbed wahr and took whole unit outside to see how it would look with the natural background. I'm going to get some great 'depth' as shown with the shop truck posed in front of the Garage door. Shed is in shadow and the fence and wire are not prominent at all. Would be better in full sunlight, but this is merely background for the models posed. And as hoped, I have way more angles to shoot from. Shot alongside the left of the Garage and where Beecher Meat Co stood. Again, I can get a lot nicer depth with the model being even more in the forground than the yard mule is. Close up of shed, fence, and wire. Now for more junk and landscaping )

looking good Clay! how did you and what did you use for the barbed wire? Regular small gauge sewing thread, Bob. Tie a half granny knot, spot of superglue, and snip the tail ends. I figgure I have in the neighborhood of 300 knots in the two strands.
