Playin with one of the 50 Ford converts I got at Big Lots for $5 ea. Plans are to have a 'beater' hot rod/custom that would be cruisin in Detroit area back in the day. You know, the hillbillized wanna be's with the chintzy J C Whitney accessories, Kinda on the order of Dan's Shine runner, but with a little less class. Photos on the way to Bob, but here's the start - lowering blocks on the rear.

I suppose the real squirrel way would be to have those cement blocks in the trunk!

Ohhh, I see Bobbo has come thru. Heres a shot of the chassis: In Florida's humidity, I can get a pretty good oxidized paint effect with lacquer. Painted this on a pretty dry day so I didn't get very much haze, but this black is just a base to work on. Plan on aging it a little.

getting pretty close to wrapping this baby up. I figgured these squirrels wouldn't have a top cover, and I didn't want to put a top on it, So, I cobbled up a top in the down position. A little crude. It was somewhat exasperating so I don't think I'll be trying another. Hardware was from some luggage racks that were in the 28 Lincoln Gangbusters kit. Never built that kit, but I sure got a lot of neat stuff from it for other projects. Canvas is t-shirt material.

Very cool idea. I think the old rag top bunched up at the back looks real. This car is great Clay!
