Dodge -700 This is a progress photo from Saturday. I took pains to keep the frame square as I glued the crossmembers. The rear crossmember and the frame are still square, But as the frame goes forward, it crept to the left as it dried, evidently. The front axle is about 1/32" out of square. I wasn't real happy. This morning (Monday), I was in a little more accomodating mood, and tore out the whole front end and made things a little better. I also had my fill of the steerable wheels that kept falling apart and glued the whole thing straight and solid. I still haven't found the alternator and was missing the air hose stand at the rear of the cab. I went ahead and scratchbuilt something similar to the drawing in the instructions,

Not going to bother with a lot of boring WIP photos even tho someone else attempting build would possibly find some reference help in them. I will be sending some to my DPMCC Fotki album tho. I found the air hose stand, but it'll go in the parts box. My scratched one will do fine. After a frustrating half a day trying to make the door hinges workable and look good, I canned the whole mess and filled in the notches, then scratch built my own hinges. I found what may be the alternator - an unrecognizable blob on the chrome tree that there is no other place for.

That green is a Duplicolor. I like using duplicolor here in Fla for parts. The humidity is so high I never worry about having shiney parts. I was hoping this green would blush more, but it still dried flat and looks like it is oxidized, which is what I wanted. I may have to give it a little more worn look by rubbing it some. This is going to be a decent looking model in spite of some of the Lindberg shortcomings.

Hay, did'ja notice the right rear mudflap on the cab chassis? I cut that out of kitchen alum foil. Too difficult, I'm going with a vandal stole the one off of the left mudflap.
