Alright, time for me to take a break from stress and demand and do a fun and relaxing build for myself and be able to try out some of my new toys like my dehydrator, my soldering station, maybe even the old PE machine I finially busted out and many more toys taboot! I used to own a 53 Bel air growing up, so this car is special to me. I will be building what if I had kept it, had the money and time to have finished it!Since I am starting out with the new Model King gasser version, I have a nice starting point. But man the frame seems flimsy! LOL. I have not decided on power plant for sure yet? But I have decided on the white walls and pie crust slicks! Paint I am not possative on, but orange and white is sounding good to me! Since the kit lends itself to opening doors and trunk, I think I will! But I also think Ill make my own hinges for it! I do plan on doing some aluminum work inside and BMF out side. I really dont care how long this takes as I will be doing several things to enhance my skills as I go. it will be done one step at a time and I dont care! I am feeling stressed and about ready to cave in to builders block and I cant let that happen as thats the only sanity I have here! LOL. So stay tuned. Pics will come as I can since my camera no longer works on my system with the new windows, so I have to beg and barrow time of the wifeys computer to upload them! Thanks. Jody

I got a convection three tray Ronco online through AS SEEN ON TV for under $35 shippied I think? I hogged out two tryay, leaving the outer edge to put parts on. The bottom tray I left alone. Just so happens, my new paint stand top comes off easily and rests beautifully in the center hole! I was told this thing runs below 110 degrees, so it should work well. I have only done a hood in it so far this week with no issues! Jody

Alright, some pics! First, a pic of the model I am using, then some pics of my old girl I used to have. A project my father got so we could work on a car together. Never did! We had bought it for $500 and drove it half way home before the carb gummed up! Was surprised. I looked rough on the outside in the pics, but it really wasnt. It had few miles on it. It was a barn find that someone had gotten and put it into another barn where we found it. It sure was impossible to get all of the maskign tape off of the chrome and it was all pitted! too bad too! The interior was mohair and was still under factory plastic if that helps you figure out how little the car had actually been driven! I dont remember how many for sure any more, but I know it was only a couple of thousand. Sure wish I still had it today. But it was in dads name and when I went into the service, he sold this, my motorcycle, my star wars collection and my hot wheels collection. some pains there I have never been able to get over! Of course I think the deepest was my father never having the interest to work on it with me, it was Mas idea! her father and brother grew up around cars, so anything cars was her idea. God bless her heart! it was all foolish to him and just more to waiste your time and money on! Oh well. Anyways.... enough about me! here is the crude beginning of the aluminum tube chassis as well! Alright, I promised pics when I could. Here they are. Shows how the bottom middle of the chassis is about half done and where I am going to solder in one of the drive shaft loops. The other pic shows me in the middle of the four door conversion. Thanks. Jody
