I was reading John G's post of his '40 Ford on MCM and someone responded with praises and mentioned a "suicide knob"....I got on google and looked around....found this image. I jumped into my parts box and pulled out some tail light sprue, chucked it into my dremel, grabbed my trusty busted xacto that I use for shaping and started carving! I shaped the knob and then put some KIT Carnauba wax on a q-tip while spinning 3,500rpm and polished it out to a "glass" finish! It's hard to see in these pics, but I am daggumb happy to have tried it! I will mount it after making the "clamp" later.

nothing fancy, I have not wired an engine in over a year...just having more fun doing it basic and spending more time on the "look" of the car. This is the custom Cadillac engine from the '49 Ford kit. one reason this is moving slow....might be that I have not been in the mood to cut the chassis. I was told it's pretty common? , in these kits that the rear wheels are too far back. I would not be able to live with it looking like this, so I am going to fix it. Nothing crazy, just a curbside anyhow.... Oh and this will sit MUCH lower Here's the surgery it's going through.... It's kind of hard to explain, but I put the rear bumper spacer on and mounted it so it fits right inthe rear....by doing this, the rear axle was perfectly centered, but the front wheel well portion of the chassis was too far forward now. I am taking the same EXACT amount out of the chassis as the front amount is too far forward. By the time I get it back together, it will be the right length. *between the white masking tape and the saw is how much it's too long* VIOLA!

I just wanted to share this. I have never used Scale Motorosports decals until now. These things really stand out! Just have to cut them to the shape you want and apply like regular decals. I did use Micro Set solution as suggested , which is supposed to soften them up and lay down better. Chassis is painted, rear end is dropped as low as it will go without cutting tires or fender wells. Interior is on the bench right now , just gonna do the pattern you see, maybe on the door panels too.

believe it or not, this thing is almost done. All i have to do is cut glass, put interior tub in, slap chassis under it and put the chrome parts on.... It's been pretty hard to not start on something else , I am determined to finish this thing up first. Wheels are still curing, sticky enamel paint I used... not pefect...at this point I don't care....besides the chop makes it tough looking inside.

this is the ride height, once it's together the front valance will come up to the fender the way it should.
