I have started repairing holes with clear rod and super glue with baking soda. the plan was to let the chrome hang.....but I don't care for the door handles because they stick out too much. I will be removing handles and scripts. I got inspiration for this build from a car that was in Los Boulevardos C.C. that is now in Austrailia. I won't be copying the car, it's not even a wagon but it is a '61 Buick. I like the colors , wheels , stance and bellflowers...so I am going to do that on mine. Started working on the hole repairs again. I don't want to jinx myself, but I hope to get this crap done tonight so I can prime! (once the holes are repaired I will shave the handles etc..) I started messing with the interior. I took out the "folded" seat and it came out easily....must have been glue with Elmer's or something like that. Removed seatbelts too. Started doing the tuck and roll which is not looking very nice right now, but I have to get them all done and put the piping around it all. To me the half round looks too big. I decided to leave above this line "smooth" vinyl. Getting the backrest work done. I am glad the back seat was missing haha! I have to put the piping around it, but it's almost done!

Nothing too exciting, got the piping done and interior painted. I might add some white....I might not? I might add a mexican blanket...I might not? Will see! The body will be the same color "Inca Gold" and the roof will be "Fiery Orange". BTW...you might notice the lumpy looking paint towards the gate area. I dunno what that is about, but I don't think I will worry about it since it will be hard to see when I am done. I just realized there was a chip! Super Glue and Baking Soda to the rescue! I hope this car doesn't drive me insane!

Allright. I'm going to ask. You have mentioned 'super glue and baking soda' several times in the past also. What exactly is your method and what's the advantage over just straight super glue? I gave it a try the other day and found out you can't make a paste of it (instantly turns into a rock), so I figure maybe a dab of glue is applied and then the BS is sprinkled on. Ok, that works, but is just as hard to sand down as plain super glue. Can't really see an advantage here. That wagon body is beautiful, BTW.

Looks like a cool wagon Bob. I really like what you did with the front seat. You make it all look so easy! Keep the updates coming! I like useing the super glue/BS too!

Ok, other than it dries immediately....It is harder I think than without the BS in it. A lot of guys use it for filling gaps like when putting two parts together than don't "seal together" perfectly and it hides the seems. I have not tried to replace chips or missing pieces of body with super glue on it's own, so I don't know what the difference would be? I like it because it sands smooth and easy and is easy to blend with the plastic as far as consistency. For example when I finish that chip missing and the car is painted you will never be able to tell the difference. I wish I could tell you more, this tip was told to me by Ed Brockway and I have used it many times since then. Thanks for the comments guys, I am trying to keep steady so I can actually finish it!

The repair- you can see in this phone almost the jagged shape of the chip missing. It's now replaced with baking soda and super glue and smooth and level as the way it should be.
