I know you can use many things to strip chrome, but I have Super Clean since it's what I use most of the time for stripping old paint off vintage builts that I get. This is the same as Castrol or the "Purple Lake" you all hear about. This is a "lunchmeat" container from the grocery that I saved and it works just fine for a little dip! It has a lid also. I have probably 15 cars' bumpers in this. I think between taking them off the cars and putting them in the tub, they were all stripped in about 15 minutes. Next up, a tooth brush and warm water with dish soap. I prefer to do this right in the sink so that the Super Clean can be rinsed off immediately before burning my skin. I DO have rubber gloves. VERY IMPORTANT- Super Clean will kill you, your animals or your children if you don't properly care for it. If death does not occur, certain hospital visit will happen! Use rubber gloves, a dust mask and goggles when using this stuff. Also make very sure you are not doing this next to clean dishes or any "dish washing items" that may get splattered by it. Keep it contained and make sure you clean up afterwards. What you should have aside the "safety items" The first bumper right out of the Super Clean and under the water. The "suds" you see is the chemical washing off. Now we put a little dish soap on the bumper, just a dot will do and start scrubbing being sure to get all nooks clean and free of the chemical and residue from the chrome. Bumper #2 all clean This is how you should look if you do it right.

I guess that's what you end up looking like when you inhale the fumes from Super Clean. LOL
