I started this for a build-off on ADR. Unless i can find some decals to replicate as a 1:1, i will be using the kit decals, and making a phantom as i dodnt find any info on the "Re-Charged" car.   I am working on the engine, should have progress pics in the next couple of days. Thank you. Virgil |

I've got two also. One box is marked "Super Sport" and the other "Super Stock". Oops, somebody wasn't watching. Gary

I have the motor ready for paint, but the weather has been wet, and cold. This weekend is to be in the 60's, and dry, so i am planning on painting this weekend. I filled the axle hole in the block with clear part tree, and the dist shaft was a joke, so i drilled it out, and put in 1/16" dia aluminum tube to give it a more realistic look.    Here is a pic of the car i want to replicate, if i can find the decals.  Thanks for looking!! Virgil |

Hey Virgil, I used to watch this car at Dover Drag Strip in Wingdale NY back in the 60's. He usually ran against "Doc" Burgess's "Black Arrow". It was wild watching these cars back then. I remember when "Doc" altered the wheelbase on his Plymouth. Those were the days! Gary

I found the decals, but they are expensive, and i cant get them right now.......  . I also found this car with a white body. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Yeah, I kinda remembered the car not painted red. I wish I had some pix but I didn't have the foresight to take pictures back then. There was a set of the Black Arrow decals out at one time and I think I saw a built model of it in an old model magazine. Gary

Thanks for the help Gary. I appreciate it. I have come to the conclusion, i will be using the kit decals, and make a phantom. I painted the engine block tuesday night, once i can get it back from my buddies house, i will get pics posted. Virgil |

Great old kit, one of Johans best IMHO. Just be careful with those kit decals, some of the Johan sheets from that era disintegrate as soon as they touch water.

I have decided for sure to use the kit decals. However, i am using a different color since this is a phantom car anyway..lol. I am going to use a color i mixed. It is a faint yellow, almost a cream color, and i call it "soft sunrise". Dorky maybe, but i like it....lol. Once i get it painted, i will show pics. The engine didnt come out to good, so i will have to paint it again....  Thank you. Virgil |

With 3 other builds going on, i havent made much progress on it, but here is what i have so far. I have to finish the bodywork, then i can primer it.   I am sorry there isnt more to post at this time. Very soon i will have the body updates. Virgil |
