Here is a kit that I just recently got out for a project and this is the first part of it. Its the Lindberg Jeep Grand Cherokee 1/20 scale kit. It will be a tow vehicle for another 1/20 scale project that I will also be starting as soon as the Vette is finished. I started this kit many years ago and had the motor done, all the interior parts painted gloss grey and the chassis and most of the suspension parts painted gloss black. I wanted to knock down the shine on the interior and chassis and I found a can of satin clear in my paint stash and tried it on a interior door panels...........that was a BIG mistake! As soon as it hit the part it started dissolving the grey paint and so I hurried up and through it in the brake fluid, so much for that idea. I finally decided to through everything except the motor in the brake fuild and start over..........oh well. Here is a pic of the kit I am building: Hosted on FotkiAnd here is the newly painted chassis and axles using satin black: Hosted on FotkiAnd here is the freshly repainted interior using the new Testors interior grey spray paint: Hosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiThe interior grey is really nice and I sprayed it directly onto the red molded plastic and it covered it with one coat with no bleed through that I can see!

Cool. I may, someday get a chance to do a large scale model. Wouldn't it be cool to have a large scale Mopar? Those the Jeep instructions? Does it have the option of a blower?

Cool idea Marc. My stepson has 1 of the Tamiya jeep cherokee kits. It seems to be a very nice kit. Keep us posted.

The instruction sheet under the model has a BBC on it, so i would say no, it is not an option for the jeep.

The instructions under the Jeep parts is for the '68 Vette, sorry for all the confusion, even though that would be cool to do he he he. I went to James Gerdes' house yesterday and picked up some different wheels and tires and I'm going to do a couple of mock-up pics later today and see how they look on her.

I've been having fun with spray paint the last few days he he he. Friday I shot all the body parts for the Jeep with white primer and the results was a nice shade of Mary Kay pink LOL. Hosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

Thought I would show a couple of pics of the motor for this beast. As I stated in the first post on this it was built several years ago but doesn't look bad at all so I'm going to leave it as is. Hosted on FotkiNow check this out...............here is a pic of the 1/20 scale V6 Jeep motor (top) and the 1/25 scale V8 motor for the '69 Vette I'm working on. Man that V8 looks tiny LOL. Thanks Tony. Its a bit darker than the pics but red has got to be the hardest color to capture in pics. Once I get the clearcoat on it I will get some better pics of it.

That is really looking sharp Marc. The interior gray will make the red show up a lot!!! Great choice. The motor looks very clean. You are doing one heck-of-a-job on this build.
