I ran into something I didn't even think about. The engine sits too high and sits just a little above the body. I can use the scoop that came with the kit but I really don't know if I want to use the whole scoop. The scoop is 2 pieces and I'm thinking if I just use the top half, it would clear the engine. The whole scoop to me is a little too much...I think? Any input would be appreciated on this one. Here's a little better idea of what both would look like. I'm leaning towards the half scoop look.

2ยข from the Geezer. You're building a street machine, the full scoop makes that statement. But then, personally, I'm for as much attitude as can be depicted.

Point taken Geezer but another factor made me go with just the top half. If you notice the pictures above, the lower half of the scoop is shorter and will not allow the hood to go completely down over the engine.

My 2 cents worth. I am a fan of the cowl hood look and scratch built one for my 66 Nova. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks Virgil, Here's a quick Mock-Up withe the body on. Still needs to be clear coated and of course everything else added. The front end should sit just a bit lower than what it is now and the front wheel isn't exactly where it's suppose to be (no front suspension yet).

Starting to do the final assembly and what do you know, the rear window is about the same size as the opening. I thought maybe it was just that window or maybe the body so I tried it out on a couple more bodies and also tried a couple more windows and it is the way they were designed. I just have to do the best I can.

Finally got the body onto the chassis after clamping down each side because of the warped body. The front wheels do not sit right using the king pins supplied with the kit so I had to drill some more holes so they would. Only thing left to do now is the front bumper and the tail lights then polish her up.
