Got this rebuild done. Was a little discussion on the original paint, in TRaK. This turned out pretty cool. It's Duplicolor Hemi orange engine paint w/ R&M clearcoat. Has miniscule metallic specs in it. I should have wetsanded it and reshot a nice wetcoat on, But I was too impatient for that. I like the final result of this model better than the original build. Darn, that homemade front axle looks way too heavy !!!! Trying to show the paint color here. Those headlite buckets were some custom recessed buckets from something or other.

Now that is some attitude there!!! I love everything about this one!! Where did the wheels come from, i know they ain't 20's but i might be able to use a set, lol. Story on those wheels/tires is that I intended to use my castings for this rebuild. Changing the wheels was the cause of the whole rebuild. I have made a mold of a tire the same size as the rear here, But my resin has outlived it's shelf life, and along with the high humidity here in Fla, my attempts to cast have been a disaster lately. The rear tires on this model are from the parts box and because I have 4 of them, I think they most have come from the AMT 50 Ford kits. I had used one of those rear Halibrands to make a mold, but again. no good parts. They look good on the surface, but are shot thru w/ pinholes. The front tires are my castings. I mounted a tire from the junkbox and rigged up a way to chuck it in my Dremel (actually, Black and Decker). I narrowed it by cutting off the back side and made the diameter smaller. Had trouble cutting in some decent treads....Dremel as a lathe, not to accurate. Anyway, I made a mold of that attempt and managed to get two that I could use. The front wheels are castings I made, again, good on the surface, but the resin is shot full of holes. Don't look to bad at a glance, but won't hold up to any scrutiny.
