Just building this over the weekend. I have always loved the box art for this one and killing a vintage kit makes my day! will clearcoat and hide the decal edges tomorrow.

Nothing like building an old vintage kit to make the kit collectors' hearts skip a beat LOL. Nice start Bob, is the plastic molded in black on this one?

thanks guys! yes it has mooneyes for the tank and for the rear window. yep it's molded in black, but i painted it black again because the plastic had wear from other parts rubbing all these years. this kit was made in 1963.

It's clear coated. I am not gonna waste time polishing, it came out pretty daggumb smooth and besides hot rods and drag cars IMHO don't need a deep paint job. Door seems are still showing up white in photos, I might run some acrylic gloss black in them to kill it.

daggumb....I am actually pretty impressed with how this came out! Black on Black....man it's neat looking! I think this is in order for a future hot rod of mine.

Lookin pretty cool Bob. I can't remember how many years it's been since I built one right out of the box. Sounds like something I should try just for fun.
