Well I have lot's of things to finish by "deadlines" but I started this one to get my kustom fix. It's gonna be mild, but I love Mild! I got this '60 Park Lane a few months ago from my buddy Randy Webster (fanofratfink) here on the forum. Thank you! What you see is exactly how I got it. This car had NO glue anywhere other than for the roll bar and very minor glue for mirrors, spots and fender sights. This car about fell apart when I took the screws out! Glass and chrome are near perfect. I have been on a mild kustom rampage lately and I tell ya what, finding inspiration to build this car has been hell! There are very few photos of this car online that show it mild so I can draw ideas from. That is why it's a "nobody style" mild kustom. It's stripped now and this is how it looks. here's a view of the wheels, I kinda like them and if ya imagine the pearl green paint job.....think that it would look smooth in that color and chrome on? I sure do

That cleaned up really good Bob, so half the battle is already over. I think green will look nice on this one.

I guess I was mistaken on the hubcaps. They are indeed Cadillac. There are Lincoln's that are almost identical though. Man....the smell of this Evercoat reminds me soooo much of the body shop! I am sure it's dangerous to be smelling the fumes.....but to me it's pleasant (I am sure some of you know what I mean) I have never used this stuff on a model in my life and I tell ya what....I don't know why I never tried before, it's awesome! you can't really tell in this pic, but I shaved the MERCURY lettering off the front of hood and removed the trim piece below that on the front of the hood....shaved smooth! fast updates when I am rollin'! fixed the windsheild frame, it was busted between the visors. It's gonna be invisible when its foiled. I can't even feel the seem.

Looking good Bob. Where can I find the evercoat? thanks! here's my story.... We used this stuff in the body shop I worked in. I never thought of using it on a model car, so it slipped my mind for several years. Mj got a tip from Irvin Arter and got some and he swears by it. Mj said it could not be bought in public, that you had to know someone or work in a body shop to get it. I searched ebay, it's on there.... but I don't know who is selling it. I didn't give up lol..the stuff isn't cheap! $35 plus tax here. Find a good paint supply shop for auto and they should have it and will sell it to anyone. I found a Redshaw store here in Omaha that carries it and sells to anyone. Mj got false info from somewhere, but it's available to the public....you just can't find it at your local parts store....you have to find a professional paint supply store. This is two parts and when it's mixed, it sets up FAST! It sands really easy and stays somewhat flexible because this particular formula is for fixing bumpers and plastics. This photo, imagine a split in the side of the bumper below the headlight...it was fixed with the same stuff. That was my car and pics taken when I got it home. Not the coolest car, but it was cheap transportation and repainting it was fun!

Almost every part of the body has been sanded, but I will go over it all again with a finer grit. The reason for the sanding was to remove scratches on an otherwise very clean body. I just removed the scripts on the rear quarters, next thing to do is sand everything down again with maybe 2,000 and then prime it.

thanks Marc! not there yet....after prime I could see a lot of scratches yet. I will wet sand again and try to level it all out. I am not giving up, it's just taking a tad longer than I hoped.

The pics don't do this color justice....holy MEARDA! I love it! I will be using it again and I think it would be perfect in a two tone on a 50s car! I have some ScaleMotorsports interior decals that are a darker green to offset the interior. Same color to interior, but seat panels will be the decal.

I had a can of Evercoat when I worked in the paint dept of the RV company I worked for. I really liked it. It lasted a long time. I'm now using Bondo 'Professional' Glazing & spot putty. It comes with a tube of hardner. Quite similar to Evercoat. It's one of the things that our local Autozone dropped out of their meager paint supplies offerings, because they wanted "to reduce their inventory". I have quit trading there altogether. They're getting as bad as WalMart in dropping anything that does not have an immediate turnover !! I have to go a few miles further to one of the Advanced Auto Parts. They usually have whatever I want (Duplicolor is one of them).

I really like that color for that car, nice choice Bob. As for the WalMart and Autozone thing, I agree and I dont hardly go there anymore for the same reasons.

I guess the interior won't look so bad. I have yet to detail anything, but it's painted. When my BMF comes in I will have fun! I picked out a steering wheel....er, cover. I think the stock wheel would look ok, but I wanted to add a little more "mild" to the car. It will be painted the same color as interior. This car is going to end up monotone for the most part. All the chrome will be the offset. Even though this was never glued on, there are still sink marks where the pins are.
