Well I guess its time I started a WIP on this build LOL so lets get started! This is AMT reissue of the Ice Cycle that I started a couple of months ago and put on hold trying to get my hands on some pearl white paint but finally gave up on that idea and decided I had stalled long enough and its time to finish it up! Here is the box art of kit: Hosted on FotkiEven though the box says its 1/25 scale its actually 1/12 and this is not the only kit that AMT (RC2) messed up on like this. Here are one of the wheels assembled, man they are cool: Hosted on FotkiIn the next 2 pics you can see the "bike" part of the kit assembled and I can sure tell this is an oldie, the 2 halves didn't want to line up very well: Hosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiThe box was better but still needed some sanding to smooth everything out: Hosted on FotkiAnd here is a mockup of it before the sanding started: Hosted on Fotki

And I want to get some opinions on something. There is a lot of white on this build and I was thinking of adding a little more color to it. I thought about either painting the areas circled in red of maybe foiling them, what do you guys and gals think?? Hosted on Fotki

depends on if you want it to look like the box model? are them supposed to be the "doors" to lift for getting ice cream out? if so...foil might look good.

I'd foil em for that traditional look.

Just an idea here."Crazy,so that's how it goes "(to quote Ozzy Osbourne). Why not scratch build something clear, and "frost" it on the edges instead of painting or foiling the freezer "door"?Then go to Hobby Lobby, and get some miniature containers to put in the "ice box"(something that resembles like Edy's Ice cream containers).Frost the inside of the "freezer',too!!!You can still install the chrome lights on the clear"door".My mother-in-law is really into Miniature dollhouses,so I look at that stuff for her when I go to Hobby Lobby.Let me know if you like the idea, and I'll look the next time I'm there.Like I said, just an idea...... I like the idea but not this time around mainly due to the fact that my internet will probably be shut off in the next few days and I don't know when I will be able to get it back on so I'll just work with what I have for now. But maybe somewhere down the line I may go back and do it.
