Scratched up a fuel tank yeasterday. Used 1/2 of a junkbox seat pedestal. Fuel pickup thingie is a 4 banger carb cut off from it's manifold. Stiffeners are small styrene rod, flooded with Super Glue.

Cabinetmaker friend gave me some veneer scraps a while back. Thought I might have a go at trimming the interior of this thing w/wood. That was a dumb thot because I dislike doing interiors. I did make a platform for the gas tank and may continue with the wood for the floor: I have both doors and the trunk hinged now:

Spring break. Had a carfull of offspring from Indiana this week. Been piddling away tho. I 'm going with a track nose. Down between the rails, it was crowding the front axle crossmember. I cut out the grill opening and replacing it with some concave bars (wire).

I have the interior pretty much wrapped up. Except for the dash....it will be attached to the inside of the body after paint. This has become pretty much my method of dealing with interiors on channelled rods. No tub, just built on the frame rails and the body drops down. All I have to do is hook up any firewall details. Seeins as how I opened the doors, I have yet to figure out what to do for door panels I'm not going with wood....I think. I have it up on all four wheels, the front suspension is complete. So, now it's on to getting some paint on the tin.

Thanks, guys. I'm supposed to be going down to Largo tomorrow to pick up my Yamaha XS650 chopper. So I may be off this build for a while I have started painting my helmet now that the bike is this close. Besides I have mislaid the cut out trunk lid for this model. I'm hoping it will re-imerge somewhere in the clutter!

Do'nT give up on me. I'm painting two helmets. Trying to zero in the carbs (1:1) on my new chopper, and cooling my heels waiting for the motorcycle endorsement so I can get it on the street. (I have to take a $200+ course. New Florida law). does that suk or what ?? I have color on the coupe and will clear it along with one of the helmets )
