At last, two long term projects; both now finished at the same time. I decided to build a version of a '58 Chevy that I would want to own. I have always been a big fan of the two door Impala coupe, it's a great looking car, just not too keen on all the chrome and two tone paint. So, lots of molded in trim has been sanded off and the rear wheel arches have been opened up to show off more of the wheels. The '30 Ford was inspired by the race cars I saw at the Vintage Drags on Pendine Sands in Wales last summer, see last picture. I decided I wanted flathead power, but couldn't get the six carbs to fit on such a narrow block. My solution was to glue the "flat heads" on an OHV block, of unknown origin. The cooling and fuel systems are fictious - I just wanted it to look right, but not too worried about accuracy. Not my best pictures because it's a gloomy, wet day here in West Sussex, so I took them indoors and to be honest both cars look better than the images suggest. Hope you dig... I now have no projects on the go, so I've been back on Ebay and bought myself 6 kits, including a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud (4X4, Rat Rod, Gasser, Mad Max's posh uncle's car?) This should keep me entertained in 2023. I'll post some in-progress pictures as I go, but nothing will get finished until later in the year.

Nice! Color and updated trim on the Impala looks perfect. Nice touch on the taped headlights on the coupe. Paul

The 58 Chevy has never been my favorite, but you created a perfect one Spike. You took off just the right amount of chrome. I also love the dark wheels and blacked out grille. It makes me rethink my opinion of the 58 Chevy. Great job on the Ford. It really looks the part.

That '30 Coupe looks just about perfect , well done ! And I agree completely about the excessive trim on the '58 Chevy , remove all of the excess and just leave the beltline and quarter trim like yours and they look really sharp , yours is spot on !
