While working on my 66 Merc, I was a bit overzealous when trimming my windshield to delete vent glass. Now it won't work. Any ideas what I can use in place of the glass? Anything around the house?
Thanks!

Lexan or a irate maybe go to a craft store ans see what kind of clear options they have, or you can us clear blisters from all kinds of purchases that have the same shape and even clear film from pie boxes or the like.

^^^I like the last part...I need a nice apple pie with vanilla ice cream on top! Grocery store, here I come! Lol,
I've gone through my unbuilt models, and nothing has a spare windshield or anything else I can use. My 1965 Lincoln model has both a clear and tinted windshield, but even THAT doesn't line up right.

AMT '65 or '66 Galaxie?

^^^Probably would. The Merc is an AMT kit. Of course, I would have to go find that kit, and it would have to be on clearance somewhere.
I stopped and picked up a pack of Velcro strips. The plastic blister is clear and thin, so I'm going to try that.

I find that if you get it cut to size or a little bit larger and use crazy glue in very small dabs one spot at a time the glue won't show, patience is the key. I got this technique from an article in Scale Auto by Juha Ario.

^^^That's pretty much how I did it. I did get a little string of glue on the glass, so I'll try to polish that out tonight.

Clear "Lay Film" is what I use for glass in many of my builds.
Most cars from the 60s, especially the late 60s have very simply formed glass.
No compound curves, so it's pretty easy to use a flat, flexible, clear film to create your own.
The nice thing about this is that the glass will look much more in scale than the kit glass as well.
I used .007 clear lay film, purchased from a craft store, for all of the glass on my '68 Olds.
