Once again I find myself away from home base with limited resources. I brought along a few simple kits to keep me busy and this is one of them. Just for fun... The kit was missing the wheel and tire package, hence the discount price. I had these laying around from an old Jada diecast. Should work I had no axles for it so I made some from sprue After the usual prime, sand, repeat routine I hit the body with some rattle can paint. I would have liked a deeper, richer maroon but this is the best I could find around here. Also toned down the wheel set I've always liked this one as well as most late 30's early 40's automotive and industrial styling. I'm just trying to pull it back into that era a little. Having a lot of fun with it.

I always thought that was a kool little kit, liked the flow of the body, and I think those wheels will look great on it. I have the RamBlur from the same Slammers series and I always wondered if the Rambler body was originally a JoHan mold. Anyway, this is a quick cheap thrill for sure, and looks great in that red. I did a real quicky on the one I built, I just polished the black plastic.

Not 100% sure about the origin of the Ramblur but I did a small comparo here in this thread : drasticplastics.proboards.com/thread/6080/revell-34-coupe-pro-finishIt does look like they share some DNA somewhere. I think my copy will be next up on the bench once this one id finished.

Looks sweet for a quickie! It looks like you could have saved those rear hubcaps, can't see a bit of them! If you don't have any exhaust tips showing anywhere (I don't see any), this thing is screaming for some full length lake pipes!

The chassis has some exhaust tips molded in, just can't see them. Lakes pipes might look good but I don't have a parts stash here, besides, wouldn't they look redundant with those pipes coming out of the hood sides or help with the overall look? Just thinking out loud here. The wheels are all one piece with the axle shanks molded in so I thought it would be best just to use them and keep it simple.
