AMT 32 Ford Sedan, from the double kit with the 41 Willys, build thread here: 32 Ford Build hereIn summary: Tamiya Pearl Green exterior with Tamiya Pearl Blue interior, wheels swapped, some chrome Ansen style mags instead of the turbine style wheels that came in the box, dropped front axle substituted for the straight axle from the kit, Halibrand QC rear end from the Willys that accompanied this Ford in the original issue. Ditched the huge exhaust system of the original in favor of modified Revell 29 Model A (also nailhead) headers. Engine wired and plumbed, otherwise pretty much out of the box, with an emphasis on a clean build that I could only dream of having the patience for back when I was 12 years old! One thing I would say is that you really notice what is essentially a sectioned body on this kit. It looks narrow all along its length, but especially in the front where it meets the firewall. Don't notice it too much with the originals little running board/fender side piece, and the huge stack of exhaust pipes hiding the bottom of the body, but with it bare as it is here, it is really noticeable. thanks for looking and as always, comments invited and appreciated! jb

Fantastic! Changing the wheels & tires and getting the nose down did wonders for the lines and flow of this kit. I also much prefer the headers you used and ditching the stylized running boards / fenders. Without all of that it looks like a really tough hot rod!

Yes, a very nicely done Sedan! I think the modifications that you did really improved the overall appearance, especially getting rid of the running boards and fenders was a good call. Excellent color choice and overall very nice and clean work as always! This kit is definitely on my "Wanted List". Maybe some day...

Thanks you guys, your comments are most appreciated. Yep ditching the running board/rear fender things really helped clean it up as did ditching the overly dramatic side pipes and getting the front end down more. Actually was thinking it was going to sit lower than it ended up but it looks pretty good as is, not too unrealistically low but lower than it was that's for sure. And I wasn't too kool on the kolor, but it has grown on me and I think the color of the top insert really helped. In hindsight I wish I had tunneled those taillamps, but they turned out ok as they were meant to be...would look better with the connector bar hidden behind a tunnel though.
Niko, I got an extra kit, semi started but more than complete, if you are interested send me a PM and maybe we can make it yours. I bought up more than one to end up with a complete sedan and now I have extras, that's how it usually goes!

Hey jb,
This came out nice. Love the color combo, the interior is real 60's. I bet the porcelain-ed headers really look good in person. Thanks for the good WIP also.

So, at least for now I will have to skip. I'll keep the offer in mind though, if you still have it.

Great build! I really like the grill, but it is sort of teaser because you really can't see the whole front of the car.

Very cool indeed! The "one piece" custom grilles thing is really big these days. Color, I know what you mean. Back decades ago when I was building, I custom mixed a color much like yours for a '49 Ford custom. It took me a while to enjoy it too. Seems like anything other than metal-flake or very bright colors isn't great, but I disagree. Fine job!
