Haven't been on here for a long while, what with life getting in the way. Moving house, building models and props for Pinewood Studios etc. But managed to get this built, a 39 Chevy Wagon. Did a few mods and scratchbuilt parts for this, and the wheels are from Mr Steve Zimmerman with my own turned rims for the back of the wheels. I used real wood for the floor, chemiwood for the air filter, door cards and interior panels. Paint is flip flop over a black base. Wow nice work there updating that ancient kit! Perfect stance and wheel and tire combo. I like the exhaust outlets worked into the rear fenders and the air cleaner too.
Welcome back!

I've always thought that was an odd looking kit but you've made a real beauty out of it ! Nice mods and a gorgeous paint job !

You've convinced me to use the flip flop paint (or Mystichrome, as Ford calls it)I bought a while back. I was afraid it wouldn't look right on such a small scale, but you proved that it looks great!

The design of that '39 Chev to me is not inspiring. That said, what you accomplished with the variable paint look makes it look like a sleek custom! Congrats!

Sweet '39 Chevy. Is that the Dupli-Color color changing paint? I have used that one before with similar results.
But your build is wicked cool!! Outstanding job with the doors and interior as well!!

Thanks for the positive comments guys. Yep, this kit, as well as the coupe, has plenty of failings. No interior panels, being the main pain in the back side. The paint is actually from a place called www.specialistpaints.com here in the UK. Cheers Steve
