Thanks Guys! I remember this was a fun build. And as I already had one of those new Revell Racing Cobras (Which is still in progress), the uptop was the reason that made me buy this kit. It is a bit different and cooler in my opinion than if it was built just a "regular" model without a top at all.

Quite a respectable build IMHO . Are you building an authentic Race Version ? Taped headlights , Roll Bar .. I admire this , KUDOS . "Where's the keys ?" Thanx ..

Thanks! Yep I have one of those new Revell kits that is going to be built as a Racing version some day. I've started it a bit, but for some reason it has been stalled for a couple of years now... Hopefully I could finish it in the near future.

Hey thanx! At one time I preferred this later Cobra since it really had both "go power" and chassis/suspension to handle the bigger engine. These days I've become a purist of sorts and prefer the original 260/289. Still, you've done a fabulous job. The paint is the prime highlight so evident in your good fotos.

Thanks Harron! I'm not sure which one I prefer myself. I'm sure the 289 version would be pretty much fast enough for street as well, but this Big Block would be interesting one to drive too. Actually I'd like to build a model of that 289 version. Maybe some day I'll do that.
We visited at Shelby Museum in Las Vegas about two weeks ago and that was a really cool place. There were several Cobras, Mustangs and of course Shelby Daytona Coupes as well. If someone is going to Vegas, I highly recommend that place.

IIRC , the 427 Cobra is still the Raining Leader of the Fastest Open Sports Car of all Time . The zero to 100 mph to Zero record remains unbroken AT 13 Seconds flat . The Sept. or Oct. 1965 Road and Track did a side by side comparison between the New 427 Corvette and the 427 Cobra for the 1966 MY . The Corvette accomplished the same feat in only 90 Seconds .. This Article was part of the yearly New Car Review for 1966 MY by Road and Track . I want the keys for this one . I rode in one myself ... NOT Drove , I rode . Breathtaking Thanx ..

Getting a ride in a Cobra must be very cool, a thing you don't forget the next day! It's true that these were very sporty at that time (And of course they still are!). Cool cars.
