This kit looks to have been based off a much earlier version and has most of the parts for the roadster and a Olds or Pontiac motor and a custom grille but nothing on the instructions about those parts,I am going to build it has a late 50s/early 60s hotrod with the dual quad Y block from a 56 or 57 ford kit. Just opened the box and looking through my parts for everything I need to build it the way I want but looks like I will need a couple parts like a 40 Ford steering column and wheel, not sure if I am going to use the wide 5 rims or go with chrome reverse but I might like the chrome better.

Tho simplified chassis (often with molded-in exhaust) and original stock 1940s suspension front and rear, it's IS a beautiful body design. Some nice custom parts in those old 3-in-1 kits. Good luck, get to her!

I wish it had all the parts to make it a convertible,it did come with a top but not the cowl top and windshield frame, the instructions only have info on a stock coupe and nothing else even though it has custom parts.

For everybody, for instruction sheets, go to the plastic drastics FOTKI site. They have the AMT '36 Ford sheets, including the little custom body section. If I remember, the site has fewer of the sheets than a few years ago, but still has a lot of old essentials. I haven't checked for new kit sheets, but it would be nice to have them up for builders and potential buyers. Thanx!!

I have found the convertible parts that did not come with the kit so if I build this one as a coupe I will get another to build as a convertible, since it came with a custom grille the next one will be a 40s tail dragger since I do have fender skirts that will fit. A new hobby shop opened up that sells parts, built kits and unopened kits which is great so I wont have to look on ebay and can get everything locally. I take in my extra parts I will not use and come home with parts I can use.

Why can't I see the photos? Without photos, it did not happen.

Not much has been done to it except opening the box and sanding some mold marks off the body, been too damp to paint.

Found the chopped top and fender skirts so the coupe is going to be a taildragger done up in late 40s fashion in a dark maroon and not sure on the interior right now, digging through my parts stash I found the Desoto bumpers and flipper hub caps from the AMT 40 sedan delivery kit along with the wide whitewall tires from the Revel 50 Ford p/u kit so I am done collection parts and time to start building.

I now have to pick up a second kit to build the convertible which will be built as a early 60s hotrod that I had planned on building the coupe as but with the find of the chopped top and skirts a 40s custom needs to be built.
