Thanks Harron
That engine bay, it was one of those where you had to put all the sides together, kind of a pain, but a nice pain I guess, especially for the super builders that do some most excellent and radical builds here, (that would include you bud!) I do agree with you on the semi gloss / satin paints for parts and interior. I just did not change this from the gloss in time, basically am wanting to just get it finished and OFF the bench, if you know what I mean, LOL.
All I can figure is when I originally sprayed the black, must have been all I had at the moment. This is a build I started, who knows when a few years back, and over the holidays last year I found it, all nice and tucked neatly away on top of the hallway coat closet, hidden in a plain brown box?
Not sure how it got there, (wife), why I would put it there when I have a whole room and several closets devoted to my plastic, (wife), but I sure don't seem to remember even painting this kit, so I guess I boxed it up, (wife), and put it away for safe keeping, (wife) - hahahaha
But that is why I plan to tint to the windows. To basically help hide the interior. Kind of unlike me to not go all out on the interior, most ALL my builds I flock the flock out of them, Ha! But didn't even apply flocking carpet or headliner on this one.
I did get some more done last night, after I mowed, and mowed, AND mowed, and am hoping to get this sucker wrapped up soon!
Quick shot of the undies - finally I think I mastered the "real / dirty" look for the mufflers!
It's a touch blurry, but this gives a look at what the stance should be...
Finished the chrome black BMF, (looks plain old black to me, but anyways), finished the rear window and started on the fender lips. Should have the fenders and marker lights done this weekend. Planning to cut out some side windows, then tint the rear and side windows lightly with black window tint, plus a visor stripe along the top of the front windshield.

Let's tint the windows I say, forgot how tough that can be. BUT, taped and sprayed, we will see if these will pass inspection, or if I will be raiding a like kit for replacements, LOL
Also, have the passenger side BMF and details finished for wheel wells and marker lights - off to the driver's side, a little at a time.....

Appreciate it Boxcar I am really hoping to have the driver's side all done and windows installed this weekend so I can FINALLY slip the body on at last. I plan to cut out some side windows from some .015 clear plastic sheets I bought and see if I like them or not. Will also start installing the front and rear bumpers, polishing, and all the little do-dads that go into finishing and getting readied for some final pictures. Then in a clear case she will go to sit in for the majority of her life, LOL

Well - back from vacation, jumped back at the bench and, UGH - the black tint was NOT working at ALL - grrrrrr
So into a makeshift mini purple pond they went... One day later - they look brand new!
Took the original side windows from the kit, (they were just too thick), and used them to trace out on some clear .015mm thick plastic. Just used a sharp, regular #2 pencil. Then cut the rear half of the windows off, and trimmed down what will be the door windows to represent them as halfway rolled down
Fitted, then reversed them to re-spray - this time using Green Tinting!
Left these dry a few days, and now have the front, (I think my visor stripe along the top came out awesome for a change!), the rear and one rear side window installed, will be finishing up the windows this week. Then will recoat the headliner in flat black. (Dummy me, as nice as this build is turning out, I probably should have laid some flocking - I still might after all!) - and then, FINALLY, should be getting the body fitted - bumpers on, final pics, slap her in a case, put her up on a shelf, and move on to another!!

Had some SERIOUS fitment issues with the Coronet these last few days. Got the windows in, rear view mirror on, put interior in and while putting the body on, my roll cage I made was too high. Took it out, cut it lower, re-installed. Still could not get the front chassis in correct. Took apart again, pulled out the dash, steering wheel comes off, left front rim/tire comes off... Refitted the dash, reinstalled the steering wheel, then the engine bay came off, (sidewalls-firewall)... Leaving this loose for the time, re-fitting, squeezing, wondering "what the hell is going on"....
Like the 29th attempt to put the body on..... Passenger side exhaust, complete from the headers off the block all the way back to the tail pipe comes loose - battery pops out, fuel pumps come off the sidewall
Feeling like a coffee pot boiling over at this point!!
Got a grip, stayed up late last night fixing things. Back at it early this morning before work, I now believe I have this shaved, cut, touched up enough that it "may" finally come together. Here is a couple pics of the rear - bumpers installed, stance is about right. I will get after the front end tonight, (it's currently glue bombed where you cannot see it and clipped), will post those pics - then will finalize with some nice pictures in the finished section.
