Nice builds man!! I never built a nascar kit yet,very detailed models,looks like a fun build!

The days when all u.s. model companies made the NASCAR kits was a bit of a golden era. Models "box stock" were even good. Add detailing and good paint and they became the pride of any collection. Nice work. The old "SCALE AUTO ENTHUSIAST" mag did a series in the '80s on the (was it Mountain Dew?) Buick, with superdetailing. That was a cool era fer sure! Thanx!

Great build . NASCAR did always slant the rules to favor Junkie Motors . For a shiny example , this mentioned Buick . This model only offered a 4 dr. Body . This was allowed by the "Book" . Mother MoPar was disallowed from Competition lacking 2 dr. Bodies in the Model Lineup . This turned off in droves many fans who pays the bills . It is no question in my mind why Chevrolet finally beat Hudson in the Win Colum IMHO . Now , the Japanese have Teams of Competitors . Surely , this is part of the decline of the Popularity of the Sport and Model Car Builders . As the Hobby has rejected current conditions and rules , as the Fans are also . IMHO , as so many other fans , the Generic race Car with different Front and Rear Fascia is NOT NASACAR . There are so many other rules in place favoring GM . This is just one . Rules meant to even the Competition ... I don't think so . Those in the Know .. none for me thanks . You did a respectable replica of a piece of Americana . These opinions are not just mine . I agree mostly, NASCAR has always tried to make the different car companies "competitive" with rules allowing changes for uncompetitive brands. It began really in the '60s with banning the hemi, then Ford's "half-chassis" Fairlanes. Smokey Yunick's weird 7/8 scale Chevelle just went a little too far. In the early '80s (?) the "areo back" rear window GM cars were a way to help them be competitive. Even with rear spoilers, sometimes different makes were allowed different spoilers. The weird one-design bodies shared by all is a way of simplifying to theoretically level the playing field. Really, when cars went to non stock fronts and rears to prevent parts getting knocked off is when they began to lose their "real" look. I guess it's just like so much in life, evolutionary. We can accept it or reject it. Kinda sad though that the little guy racers were long ago priced out of the sport. Such is our system where money rules, most of the time. That's a choice too.
