1962 Pontiac Catalina SD 421 AMT # 6134 Built just after it was released, and as I was half way through the build found out the rear is too wide to fit under the body. Then I remembered a guy in the neighborhood that ran a 57 Ford with radius wheel wells, and remembered what he had told me. (I was about 9 at the time), " as long as the tread is covered, it street legal" , His Ford was set-up the same way with the cheater slicks flush with the body. I then added a roll-bar and finished the Cat in Dupli-color green. Thanks for looking. Jerry

Nice looking model, Jerry. I too remember, back in the day when 'Wannabes' would install wide tires that wouldn't fit under the fenderline. I used to call them "hillbilly hotrods". Still do, for that matter.

Looks great . Just legal and still rubs the openings on a bumpy road . At least the tires will still have groves to keep them legal as cheaters . You did well . Thanx ..
