AMT '36 Ford Phantom 5-window Cabriolet

My '36 Ford is now complete.  Details below pictures.  

















Body - Centre of roof cut out to create a cabriolet.  The hood (fabric roof) is made from card and masking tape, to give it texture.  I left the bonnet side panels off to show the motor.

Paint - I sprayed the body and wings in a metalic brown, and then gave the body a gold fade along the lower edges.  I used auto spray cans with no lacquer or polish.

Motor - I didn't use the flat-head supplied with the kit, I went for an OHV small-block of unknown origin.  I fitted triple carbs to give it a 50s look.

Wheels and tyres - Came from my bits box, origin unknown.

Other - The "A" Post spot lamps came with the kit.  I fitted the rear bumper direct to the body and left the front bumper off, just used nerf bars.  I love the seats, they came from AMT's '58 Chevy.

I'm not sure if it's a Hot Rod or a Kustom because I have combined elements of both - it works for me.

The reflective base is actually the glass top of an old TV stand.
