With the racer’s wedge hitting the scene, I wanted to build something a little similar. I had the extra Amt Superstones Ford pickup I robbed the wheel well out of for my Short bed 4x4 so I figured that would start as a great kick off. I really didn’t want to attempt tandem axles so I tried to replicate a duallie. My first attempt to mock a card stock bed to see what I am aiming for.

My first attempt at building the bed. I thought it was going ok. But than it was uneven and kept falling apart. This is my second attempt to make the bed. Measured and cut. I really like where this is taking me.

Mock up of the new bed. The side fell off. I taped everything together, glued, than reinforced with superglue. Hopefully that prevents it from coming apart. This is really going to put my detailing abilities to the test. I want to add lights, track for the tires to grab, larger mirrors, maybe if I find some diamond plate I throw som on the sides.

The work on the bed is good. I like the length and the idea of the tire rack. The T looks very interesting, any details for us? Paul

Well, I added about 25 mm of frame to this bad boy, I really don’t know if that is too much or just right. btw, I haven’t made wheel cutouts yet. Let me know what you think!

Coming along nicely and creative reuse of leftover parts. I like the copper color 3 window there in the background of the 1st pic too.

Maybe a nice Pontiac. That would be cool.

Well since I got the Star truk from my buddy Bart, my short bed 4x4 is going to be a 77. So that freed up my 74 grille for this build. Minor update but I hope to get moving on this. Soon
