Btw.....already got a kit coming. Before I dig through the dreaded "wall of orphaned kits" does the 32 Speed Wagon have the same tires? Paul

No. This is a RevelloGram kit, the Phantom Vicky is AMT, Different wheel sets altogether. If you mean this one.... The tires are the same as the Speedwagon, wheels different. HTH

Most of the Holiday running around mostly finished I was able to work on rear roll pan more...added some side filler pieces made and shaped from scrap. A skim coat of filler all around and some sanding should finish all the business back here.

This project is one I keep paging through to focus more on the details required to adapt the Vicky frame to the Revell body and interior. I have several of these kits in my stash as parts cars, including a completely intact unpainted one recently acquird. Most were, like yours, the pre-painted ones, which, for a while, could be had for under $10.00 complete, usually at model car shows here in the Western USA. Now the world has discovered them, painted or not, and the prices have more than doubled. But I have several of these nice modern chassis to work with, and seeing how nicely they sit under Revell bodies has me considering at least one similar project for 2021.
Your build helps me visualize what I do or don't like about the many excellent detail parts contained in the Vicky kit. The Revell kits, of course, I know by heart at this point. And I'm pretty familiar with the Phantom Vicky parts, but have rarely seen them used as an ensemble for a specific "look". The fact that you're being rigorous about sticking to the Phantom Vicky's chassis, motor and rolling stock makes this a marvelous base case for using the parts in the ERTL kit. It's making me want to do one myself, using your project as a jumping off point. Some things are pretty settled in my mind. For example the motor is beautifully detailed and very technically advanced in its look. So in the main I would want to use it, showing off the texture and detail of the block and head castings. But the top side, the fuel injection, etc. doesn't float my more traditional boat. Perhaps some Inglese pseudo-Webers? The rolling stock is another area where I might modify things, perhaps preserving the fronts as rears and going with smaller, narrower fronts. And the IFS is a surprise, in this less stylized application (vs. the Phantom Vicky itself). It's very clean and appropriately proportioned to the traditional Highboy look. It's not something I expected. Including it, vs. a solid axle, would once and for all sever any hope of TRaKability. At which point why not preserve the AMT rolling stock intact, as you have done? And perhaps an IRS for good measure. All food for thought.
I know you'll come through with an ideal representation of this approach. Build on!
