Hey all, I just went to use my roughly two year old 1mm pen and now the ink looks duller that Testors silver! Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to their pens or maybe I just got a bad one? I made sure I shook it up for about 5 minutes before use. BTW it WAS the shiny chrome these things are known for....once. Here I used it to touch up a sprue attachment point.

Pump it up some by repeatedly pressing the tip down on a piece of paper. Should start flowing again. I have had this situation a time or two and was able to revive mine. If that doesn't start it up, dip the tip into a little puddle of 92 pct isopropol alcohol, and then pump it. I have had the same pens for over a year now and both work great still with the pumping exercise every once in a while.
ps: don't be afraid to go back over areas that you have gone over before. As long as you got a good flow going it should cover them fine and dry down to a level, strokeless shiny chrome finish. Those who say you cannot go over it once it is down, even before it has dried, do not correlate to my reality with the product. I find the 2mm pen especially good for getting a good flowing coverage that retains its sheen even with some handling, once it is completely dry.

Hello all, the paint for the chrome is hard to find... I used the spaz chrome paint.. but usually works if you take the entire chrome off the bumper and paint it over... you would need to paint the bumper entirely black and wait till its solid dried up.. then apply spaz mirror chrome. Its a bit expensive process but does gives a good results.... especially if you are serious about the model car you re working on. The alclad chrome paint works well but again you would need to apply black paint on the bumper, and paint the chrome over.. same as the first one.
Maybe you can try another type of paint.. check the hobby store or craft store and see if you can find the small aerosol spray can with chrome color and test it to see if it blends with the one you have on. Hope that helps.

Like new again!
