Back when I did the mock-up it was obvious that without fenders those rear wheel openings would really stand out , so I did some looking and decided to make some filler panels like these . Not keeping with my "Box Stock" build but they will really improve the overall appearance . I made a quick little mold and used my Vac-U-Form to make the panels . Trimmed and test fitting the panels . Finished and painted to match .

Where did you get the vacu-form? I remember having one that made Hot Wheels style cars back in the 60s.

I think this is only the 3rd or 4th time I've made a part with it but it is nice to have . I also had one as a kid when they were new (1963 maybe?) and remember having tons of fun with it !

The filler panels needed a little trimming the clear the frame . They fit perfect ! One last addition is to close off the back of the seat , it's visible when the seat is installed . That's about it , time to play with some decals and finish it up !

Brilliant work on the filler panels. What did you use for the rear wheel lug nuts?

Brilliant work on the filler panels. What did you use for the rear wheel lug nuts? I used .040" hex rod , I was going to drill them and add studs but eyesight said no .

And the yellow turned out awesome as well. Thanks ! The body is just partially polished right now and the filler panels were painted with Tamiya TS-16 Yellow .

That's surprising to see Tamiya, doing gloss yellows. I'm more used to seeing it used for Armour.

What did you use for Sealer? I spray all my old decals with Testors Decal Bonder before applying them only because I've been using it for years and it has always worked for me . Microscale also makes a brushable sealer and some people just spray them with clear .
