Back in the late 80s, early 90s I visited a local toy store one day on my lunch hour. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, just checking the latest kits, when I spied a 40 sedan kit on the top shelf. I'd been wanting one of these for some time so I quickly grabbed it along with another model. While paying for the two kits, I paid more attention to the other model. When I got home that night I opened the bag and noticed, for the first time, that while the AMT kit showed a sedan, it was marked as a "40 Coupe!" I rushed back to the store the next day to buy the other five boxes, but someone had beaten me to them. Has anyone ever heard or seen this wrongly marked box/kit before?

Only once, when I bought a Raider's Coach back when I was a kid, and some of the parts trees were for a different model.

This kit was stocked with all the parts for the sedan. Including the instructions. It was just the box that had the misprint.

I've seen this kit on ebay a few times, tried to bid on it but it went up too high.

"Oh well, it's close enough!" I remember reading that this AMT '57 Chevy was a Hardtop and not Sedan as it shows on box top... But this is my all time favorite. Box side of Revell '64 Impala:
