I need something to do while paint and glue are drying so I drug out one of the junkers I originally built over 30 years ago that I tried to weather 15 years ago,the suspension was cobbled so I am getting it right thanks to a local hobby shop that sells parts kits and parts so I was able to get another front suspension and had the parts in stock to fix the rear. The flathead came out and a 390 is going in and I cut off the trans from a junk optional motor from the 34 truck kit to make it look like it was adapted to the original trans,I am trying to make it look like the motor was swapped back in the late 50s or early 60s and if I can just find a set of that period valve covers since all I have are the late 60s and up versions as the junk motor only had one. I am going to leave the body alone as it looks like a beat up work truck and do some better detailing and weathering.

Sounds interesting. What are you working on, the '34 pick up? Just wondering what kind of valve covers you need?

I am working on a 53 p/u and wanting to make the 390 swap look like it was done in the early 60s or late 50s,I do have a 34 p/u I have not built yet bit its going to get the optional motor so I am not going to rob them from that kit. I do not want to use my good parts for these while the paint and glue dries projects.

The 53 is done and I made the 390 look like a late 60s motor,I think my next while paint and glue are drying project is going to be a 41 Chevy p/u I started years ago.
