Boy that Cox Chaparral you put up on the home page sure brings back some memories ! My older brother and I were into slot cars in the 60's and used to visit a couple of local tracks every weekend . . . back when there was a track in most cities ! I had that Cox Chaparral , it was my favorite and really got me interested in Can-Am racing series . They actually televised some of the races where we lived in S. California ! Thanks for the memories !

Thanks Bob. Yeah I was into slots back then. Came in at the tail end before all the tracks closed up but enjoyed it while it lasted, at least as much as a 10-12 year old could! I always liked Jim Hall's engineering masterpieces too. At the time to me the Chaparrals were about the coolest cars I had ever seen. I've got this one started, I think I just got the motivation to drag back out of the box and finish it!

Some more from my collection. These are the kits that were mail ordered through Ford dealerships. These did not have the AMT logo on them. I have limited info on these, so I'm not sure if there was more of them, or only these four. Perhaps Ron knows more on these? The 32 Roadster had a paper inside inviting you to check out the new 64 Fords. The ends of the boxes The sides of the boxes Thanks for looking Jim

No worries if they have been posted before Niko. Never get tired of seeing box art!
Nice collection of the Ford factory promotional models you have there Jim. As far as I know those are the only four in the series but could be wrong about that.

I got that set for Christmas in 1963 ! I really got into the HO slot cars for many many years . Here's a Box I've never seen before , a 1970 Corvette . Not as cool as the Cougar with the red and white chute .

Not as cool as the Cougar with the red and white chute . Way cool Bob! I got that same set for Christmas '63 too. Best present I ever got. Dad set it up on a board in the basement. I'll never forget it. My T-Bird was a turquoise color. the Jag was a pale yellow, the Riv was red and the Vette was a tan color. The new speed controllers were little steering wheels in a small console that suggested a dashboard and speedometer. Great stuff.
