I just bought myself another Monogram Chevy S10 as I found one cheap. The body is exactly similar to my daily driver so now as I have two of these, other one will be built as a replica of my 1:1 car and another one will be something else.... Just couldn't pass this one as these kits are getting hard to find around here at least.

They really should reissue that S10 if possible.....it seems to be sought after and hard to find and therefore getting pricey....

I agree. They're even quite popular in 1:1 scale as Drag Cars or Street & Strip type cars so probably there would be some buyers for them. Now as I have already two I don't need more of them right now... But if one was reissued I'd have to buy one more.

Amen! The Chevy and Ford "midsize" pickups were an essential part until the inflationary boom of huge full-size pickups ate up the market. Best o' luck on the build! As they say, "Git'er done!"

Thanks Harron! I'd like to start on it right away, but as I'm having a couple of projects I really need to finish this year, I'll probably start building the S10 later this year... The trickiest part will be making a few speed shop decals for it that I have on the rear window of my 1:1 S10 and I need to modify a Chevy Straight Six into the GM Iron Duke straight four that I have on my S10... Definitely not a powerful engine but it's reliable and cheap as it doesn't consume that much gas.

There is an Iron duke in the MPC Fiero kits....but maybe it is easier to modify a six today than getting a Fiero kit...

Wow, even though I knew they were used in Fieros as well I honestly didn't believe that any model kit manufacturer had actually included that engine in any kit! Thanks for the info! But yeah, as you said, it's probably easier to modify a six than trying to find one of those Fieros cheap. Honestly I don't see what else could I do with a Fiero kit other than rob the engine out of it.

OK. I like Fieros but then I have a bit of a strange taste sometimes too, lol!

I got these at Hobby Lobby. I am a fan of the late front engine and early rear engine dragsters, I am not so much of this style of dragster. However, I couldn't pass up the $6 price on it. The 1964 Belvedere originally listed for $39! Seems pretty pricey for a model in 1/25th scale. I got it for $14 plus change. I haven't opened it yet to see why it listed for so much.

If I'm not mistaken that Plymouth is just another version of the Lindberg '64 Dodge and Plymouth kits, but now it's in an AMT package. Those are not the best kits out there as far as parts fit and overall quality goes (But they're not bad either!), anyway they build up really nice. I've built one '64 Dodge and one '64 Plymouth from that series and both were enjoyable builds that turned out good. I have several of those '64 Dodges on my stash for chassis donors on some rare early '60s Mopar kits...
The Dragster was a steal with that price tag! At least that should be a great parts kit if nothing else.

I agree on the dragster. However, once I open one, my imagination and need to build it kicks in, so it's quite possible I'll do a box build.

That was new info for me! Unfortunately though that engine is not the Iron Duke that's in my S10... That kit would be cool anyway.

I was not really sad to get a good deal on this one considering how pricey and rare Jo-Hans are getting.
