Stopped at a yard sale a few weeks back and snagged these... These arrived this week, got them off eBay, all for 67 bucks shipped - all but one are sealed Yesterday, we went to the big outdoor flea market. Walking around, I spied this green tote, sitting next to a pickup truck, behind someone's tables. I seen a few kits on top, and asked if I could see the tote. The little old lady took me back to it, and as I was kneeling down to see what kits were there, she said, you can have the whole thing, tote and all, that her husband does not mess with these toy cars anymore and she did not want to load it back up and take home. I asked what she wanted, she said you can have the whole thing for 30 bucks! I quickly paid her, not really knowing what all was in it, just knew there was a couple sealed ones on top and a cool die cast of an old chevy funny car and trailer. But when I got home and unloaded it - WOW - what a deal!! These were on the bottom, open, but looks as if everything is still in the sealed bags. The decals for the funny car ar shot, but i can get those someday This monster truck is opened, but looks recent, again all still sealed inside These are the sealed kits that was in the tote Then there was these cool die cast trucks And these really neat die cast pickup and then the 57 chevy funny car and trailer, also stuffed in along the sides were a few Johnny Lightning funny cars

I bought these from a local Model Car Show a while back: -AMT '62 Bel Air Super Stock will be built with kit parts, but of course I need to add some details here and there. -Monogram '66 Malibu Street Rat builtup will be rebuilt as '70s Street Machine, pretty much like the box top shows. But extra detailing and some modifications will be needed as the kit is pretty simple. -AirTrax '65 Ford Cortina resin body. I'm building it as a Street Altered Drag Car. -AirTrax Alfa Romeo Resin body. It's going to be an early '60s Altered. -Slicks & a couple of engines. And then I got that Decal Tray for free. And then I found these accidentally from a local Swap Meet. I was searching for 1:1 car parts for my projects, but found these. As they were pretty cheap, I picked them up. Thunderbird has been started by gluing a couple of parts together and decals are missing from it, but otherwise they seem to be complete and unstarted. Now I just gotta find me a decal sheet for that T-Bird from somewhere.

Those Monogram stock car kits are really nice , congrats on picking that one up ! I bought several of each when they first came out in the 80's , but I recently sold most of them . . . I kept the Elliott T-Bird and the Labonte Monte Carlo .

They're from an era when they were still genuine stock cars, before modern street iron became unsuitable for high speed super speedway work which led to the current "silhouette formula" approach. These cars had a lovely stance that gave them tremendous charisma. Great subjects to model!

The t-bird is an example of cars of the era. I agree that bodies at least resembled the real cars at least. Problem was too often the aerodynamics gave speed and ground-hugging profile advantage to only a few designs and made for NASCAR "body massaged" alterations to some cars. For me the real era ended around the time the Chrysler superbirds appeared. Even earlier, Smokey Yunick's banned & highly altered 7/8 scale Chevelle showed the odd ways of alleged "stock car" racing.

And there was Junior Johnson's "banana" Ford.

Ha! The banana Ford! And folks wondered why those body contour stencils became necessary for race directors. It's only cheating if it's obvious!

1997 "T-Rex" Chevy banned "Why It Was Banned: Jeff Gordon was given a special car to run at the 1997 Nascar All-Star Race. It wore a Jurassic Park paint scheme, but its name comes from its chassis designer, Rex Stump, who built it specifically for this one race. The car had a custom suspension setup, aerodynamically shaped floor pan, and totally redesigned chassis. It won the All-Star Race, and then was immediately outlawed by Nascar. They even seized it to use as an educational tool." (from Jalopnik)

I bought these while I was visiting in California. Those Moebius Ford Pickups will be built Factory Stock, '65 Satellite will be a modern day Stock Eliminator Drag Car (Just like the early '60s Mopars I saw racing Stock Eliminator at NHRA Finals), '29 Ford will be a Channeled Traditional Hot Rod with that Buick Nailhead and Sizzler/Slingster Dragster and that Midget will be built with box parts, but of course some extra detailing needs to be done on both. Those aftermarket goodies include Pegasus Chrome Reverse and Astro Supreme wheel & tire combos, a set of Modelhaus White Walls and 9" whitewall Slicks. Green Putty is something I haven't found here in Finland for a long time even if it was commonly seen here before. Now when I saw one, I had to get it as I need it on my Top Street Mustang build.
