Lindberg 32 Pickup Rod, 2 for £11.50, off ebay UK, one built and unpainted the other still in bags. Will try to paint built one while thinking of how to customise the unbuilt one.

Nobody has updated this thread lately...no one has gotten anything today? Well some weeks ago I splurged on a really strange one: this Lindberg 1/12 scale "SC101 Roadster". Now many of you know this is a pretty hokey kit, not as bad as that Fiat gasser kinda thing that this chassis became, but pretty strange at least. Total Jetsons body, and the chassis is pretty interesting in its front and rear independent suspension. But I always loved this box art and always was curious about this kit, so when one came up buy it now for 65 including shipping, my senses just left me and I had to get it. When it arrived I was even happier that it was in much better condition than I thought it would be, box nice and fresh and even the inside packing intact. Lets take a look: Some features: Pieces, starting with the body: Wheels, really nice Halibrand style and a bunch of them for some reason: Not so sure about the tires though, they look to be a mess of two piece construction, but they may go together better than it appears right now. An abundance of chrome and chrome sprues: And a whole boxful of parts This thing is just weird enuff that I may just build it, and if I do you bet I will use the working lights, working clutch(!), and the electrical motor, which I think hides inside inside the engine and works the fan and pulleys! jb

Interesting subject there JB! Seems like a nice kit. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. I'm not much of an aircraft modeler but I couldn't pass these up at a garage sale today. All are complete and some still sealed...$15 for lot.

I scored this a couple of days ago. It's the Hot Wheels 100% Agajanian Champ car. If you are not familiar with this series, the HW 100%ers, are the Die Cast equivalent of jewelry. Some of these were available separately, but a lot of the real juicy ones came in a 4 pack. When they first came out in the 90's, a 4 pack listed at $40.00, today I pay as much as $20 a piece for them loose. Sometimes I didn't want the whole 4 pack. It took me years to finally get this one. From one extreme to the other, 1/64 to 1/8. I also got this 1/8 scale 3D printed Ford 9 inch rear end. I have several (18, to be exact) 1/8 scale projects. If you are familiar with the Monogram and Lindberg kits, you know they come with Quick change rear ends. Those are fine for a lot of projects, but I have been searching for a "standard" style rear end for years. This one is by Mike Nagatini (Shapeways) and is very nice. It was also pretty affordable, $15 delivered. Shapeways has a lot of parts, never produced in styrene, for several of my 1/25, 1/16, 1/12 and 1/8 projects. As far as the penny in the picture is concerned, if you get as addicted to the 3D parts as I'm getting (especially 1/8) don't expect to have a lot of these left over. Ha Ha. Thanks Jim

Well, it hasn't been delivered yet, but I bought this Honda 750F. I have a real 900F and the bikes are almost identical looking, so I'll fiddle with this one a little, and make a reproduction of my 900F. I have a header on mine, and thankfully, this version has one too. Same decals as well.

Happened to pick up a pretty sweet deal the other day, a Johan 62 Plymouth Fury plus a Plymouth Station Wagon Emergency vehicle, both for a little over forty bucks! Both seem complete and the Fury box is one I don't believe I remember from back in the day, with a Kustom on the box top art. Bodies: they have the interior shell and chassis placed inside them to save space. Instructions: Glass and hood for the wagon: Bag o' tires: Bag o' parts...most everything for both models appears to be here though I haven't taken a complete inventory (and probably will not): I thought I did pretty good on this one especially considering I have wanted one of those wagons for some time now. jb

I've also got this from ebay UK..... I have just watched the Nat Geo channel on Sky where they talk about draining the Bermuda Triangle. They centre on Flight 19 on the 5th December 1945 out of Fort Lauderdale and that the flight of 5 planes disappeared soon afterwards. I've found various pictures on the net of the flight/planes and their markings. Soon to be...........................

Just picked this up @ Ollie's. As long as these have been around I've never had one. Cop car parts aside, should be a fun "quick" build project. I find these type of kits to be great slump busters.

Someone tipped me off that a book was available on the art and design of Bill Campbell, the man who did the artwork for Hawk Weird-Oh Kits, that inspired the manufacturers to make those plastic kits................... And................ Again from good old ebay UK a used Monogram '29 Ford Roadster Pickup, just a few bits missing to make a whole one (a frontwheel & tyre) but two running board frames/two chassis/two bonnets/hoods etc, so plenty to build at least one and a half as soon as I find another front wheel & tyre!

Picked this up the other day at a dollar store.... Found that it works great for gluing in glass and lenses etc, the bond is much stronger that standard white glue and other "clear parts cement".
