Man time really flies ! I haven't updated this for a few years now so let's start with what I finished back in 2020 .
First up is a MPC 1971 Roadrunner . Fully detailed using an AMT Charger engine and chassis , and wheels & tires from Fireball Modelworks .
The Speedo Bandito is a resin body from Jim Johnson/The Good Stuff on top of a Tom Daniel Boss Mustang Snap-Tite chassis .
An original AMT '63 Fairlane 500 Sport Coupe with a Revell Thunderbolt chassis and lot's of parts box goodies .
This '62 Buick "Surfin' Wagon" started as an original JoHan promo . I added Pegasus Sovreign wheels & tires and painted it '64 Buick Surf Green .
This is an original Baja Bandito I've had since about '71 or '72 . Built Box Stock .
"Wally Gator" is a Jimmy Flintsone resin kit depicting the old Hanna Barbera cartoon . I added a little extra detailing to the boat and engine .
My '31 and '32 Austin Fuel Altereds are both AMT Bantam Blast kits with Freemont Racing resin bodies .
To begin 2021 I built this 1960 Dodge Phoenix Convertible , it's a replica of a car my Dad bought new back in 1959 . Lot's of memories driving cross country several times in this car . I started with a pristine JoHan hardtop kit , removed the top , and scratch built a complete interior and chassis for it .
I love the box art on these early Lindberg kits and this one just had to be built ! Built box stock .
Another box stock build except for the M.A.D.D. distributor . This was also purchased for the cool box art .
This is what's known as a "Deal's Wheels Never Was" . Built using a DW Zzzzz28 kit and a heavily modified '70 Mustang body with my own decals .
This is a neat little 3D printed kit by C1 Models with lots of little parts plus some photo-etch . A very hair-pulling build !
Here's another I bought for the neat box art , a 1/32nd scale Aurora Ram Rod . . . also known as The Silver Sapphire .
Moving on to 2022 . . . for something a little different I built this Metal Earth Space Shuttle/Launch Pad Photo Etch kit . Over 80 individual PE parts and very very challenging to assemble .
This is the Aoshima MGB kit built using the C1 Models resin trans kit . Basically built out of the box .
This original Monogram Dragster had been unfinished for a couple of years because it was missing the headers , roll bar , and rear wheels/tires . Thanks to the Atlantis reissue I was able to complete it with some new parts , so it's not 100% original .
An AMT '69 Torino was the starting point for this Ranchero . The wheelbase was shortened and the new body was completely hand fabricated .
My take on The Red Baron got some new tires to replace the poor kit tires , and a new helmet !
This is a Deal's Wheels survivor that I built back in '70 or '71 . It was cleaned and got a coat of Future .
The Deal's Wheels Lil Herbie is a very very rare kit . I obtained a nearly complete example and finished it using spare parts and resin tires .
